Bilingual children’s book
A typography based children’s storybook of a traditional fairytale, set in two languages, Chinese and English.
The story is a Chinese mid-autumn festival classic, Chang’er, a deity who was once a commoner on earth, but flew to the moon after swallowing the elixir of life. The book unfolds vertically, and the pages carried up by the helium balloon. It reflects Chang’er’s ascent through the sky(as described by the colours) to the moon(literally, the pearl coloured balloon).
An unconventional storybook of which reading method plays along with the story plot.
